Operational Focus
The DS2000 system has been designed with constant user input to ensure that it delivers an intuitive, consistent and easy to use interface ensuring minimal operator training and disruption for new control room deployments.
All communication channels under the control of the DS2000C are presented transparently to the operator via a single touch-screen interface. A keyboard is only required for some system management activities carried out typically by control room supervisors.
The DS2000C has an intuitive interface that is quickly learnt. A key requirement when developing the user interface was to minimise the number of actions required to access system functions.
User audio is provided by means of a headset interface unit and/or loudspeaker. Headsets from all leading manufacturers have been approved for use, including those which have been designed to assist users with achieving compliance with the latest Health & Safety daily noise exposure guidelines.
As standard the DS2000C system is provided with multiple language options which can be switched during the operator session.
Languages are changed during the session simply by touching the flag on the screen and selecting the desired language:
English, Arabic, French, Spanish and Portuguese are currently supported with others being added continuously.
Operationally Driven Functionality
The key functionality presented to any individual user is defined by the system profile with which they log on. This functionality together with layout and colour schemes are all fully customisable by the system Supervisor or Engineer.
Operator positions are all the same, any operator console is capable of providing the required functionality and thus multi-role capability can easily be achieved to cope with both multi-agency and multiskilled operator scenarios.
